Hi y'all,
I'm new to this list and to CP's, and have been growing about 8 plants,
mainly VFT's and nepenthes, for about four months now.
Lately I had noticed what I thought to be a white fungus growing on the
surface of the plant medium in some of the pots. I tried
some diluted fungicide (can't remember exactly what kind) for the past two
weeks to no avail. However, upon closer examination
recently I noticed that the white stuff appears more like mineral deposits
than fungus; it's not 'fuzzy' at all, but a bit crusty. Plus it
kinda disappears when I spray it down, as if it were dissolved. Is this
just some mineral deposits of some sort (I use only distilled
water, so that possibility didn't occur to me at first), or some funky
fungus that's getting the best of me? Btw, I'm using sphagnum
peat moss, if that helps...
Thanks!
andy
