Subject: Old Seed - will it germinate?

Hi list, hope everyone's having a happy holiday.
As mentioned in my introduction to the list, I had been heavily into CP
until around 1990 when i went to college. At the time, I had a large
quantity of seed which I had stored in the fridge for safe-keeping.
Guess what? I've still got that seed (TONS of it).... I know it's a
real shame to waste seed like this but I didn't intend to take such a
long break from growing. Now that I'm back, I was wondering if anyone
had experience with 10 year-old seed. Should I throw it away or might
some of it still germinate? Much of it is stuff I have no need for now
since I'm only growing a small number of plants indoors. I've got some
Sarracenia seed (of definite known origin) as well as some leftovers of
S.African seed, some of which never germinated for me at all and some
Brazilian Drosera seed from about the same time, as well as tons of
other stuff. Any ideas? I'd like to find a nice home for some of this
stuff. If there's any hope, I'll type up a list of what I've got.
Trade for other species or small plants would be prefered but not
necessary.
Thanks in advance!
Matt
