Matt,
I also took a hiatus from CP for awhile. I had a bunch of Sarracenia seed
that was approximately 8 years old. Most of it germinated fine with a few
exceptions (I think some S. flava). I suspect that the ones I had trouble
germinating were due to the way they were collected or stored rather than
type of plant. All of the seed was stored in the fridge in ziplok bags for
the duration (except times when we moved homes (three times).
