Hi David,
I think this message *was* on the mark, about the 40w bulbs being
phased out, I mean. However, then reality took over, and bulb makers
realized that there is still plenty of people who want to use 40w tubes.
Lights of America have a fixture which has no ballast that I can see,
takes 40w, 28(?)w, and 34w tubes and you can use one or two tubes in this
fixture. I don't know how they do it! It comes fully assembled with
a power cord several feet long. All for only $10!!!
