I have several CP's growing indoors on a windowsill, without the benefit of
a terrarium, and books such as those by Adrian Slack indicate that many
others can be grown indoors as well. I am growing U. sandersonii, S. rubra
spp. rubra and a VFT very successfully in these conditions, and they will
soon be joined by U. livida and D. spathulata (thanks chris). Granted,
I've only had them for a year, and I will gladly defer to any CP master who
has more experience, but the plants are alive, and the VFT and U
sandersonii have flowered.
So it probably depends on what you want to grow more than anything else;
the fancy stuff needs a terrarium. But you don't have to spend very much
money to get started with CPs.
I'd be interested to hear what other plants members of this list have grown
successfully under normal indoor conditions.
