To all,

I'm back from my 1st non-CP trip in years! Never thought I'd go to SE
Asia and not see any Neps, nor any other CPs! But this didn't detract at all
from the trip, since my objective was tourism and rest, not CPs.
I'd like to thank Jan for the list of interesting Utrics in that area.
I did look quickly for aquatic species in the moats around the magnificent
Angkor temples of Cambodia (where I'd heard they grew), but saw none. OK, I
admit, I didn't stick my hands in the water, to search among the other aquatic
plants. I just skimmed the surface with my eyes looking for telltale flowers.
It was hard to pay attention to anything but those incredible temples.
Especially in the sunny 45 degrees Celsius plus weather! Never been anywhere
hotter in my life, the runner up being N Argentina in January with Ed Read
(Hi Ed!) a few years ago. No chance for terrestrial species, since it was the
dry season and everywhere the soil was completely parched.
Thanks also for the person who recommended I go to the Weekend
Market in Bagkok (sorry, I forgot who it was!!). Unfortunately I wasn't able
to go. I spent the first four days in Bangkok, temple hopping, but decided
to leave the Weekend Market for the end of the trip, when I thought I'd have
a full day in the city before flying out. Well, as trips progress, plans
change and I ended up on a tropical island paradise called Koh Nang Yuan
(3 islets connected by a strip of sand) in southern Thailand which I simply
didn't want to leave and where I stayed until the last minute possible,
snorkling and scuba diving. Thanks again for the tips, including the Nep
location in extreme S Thailand, where I didn't get to see.
As for Genlisea, I just wanted to thank Barry for the message stating
that he is the 'proud father' of healthy G.pygmaea and G.repens! Congrats!
I'm really glad to know someone is having success with these brats! Wish I
could hear the same about G.aurea........

Best Wishes,
