Subject: VFTs and ants

The question is,
do VFTs enjoy eating ants?

The reason I'm asking is that this year there haven't been any flies
visiting my plants, but there have been loads of ants wandering around.
The ants can't get to the plants because of the water trays they stand in,
but I was wondering if VFTs are OK with ants. My main concern is
whether or not the formic acid produced by the ants is a problem.
