It *is* quite legitimate, I'm afraid. Only your "protologue" was not
legitimate ("var. nov." missing, no Latin description, no type
reference).

But you do not need to worry, anyway. At least at the moment sending
email messages is not considered a method of "effective" publication
according to the ICBN.
