I have been wondering about this for a month or two. Sarracenias
like to
be kept wet BUT it is bad to let the soil get depleted of oxygen so long
periods in stagnant trays can cause problems.
I wonder, has anyone tried using an aquarium bubbler to bubble air
through
the soil keeping if flushed with oxygen and compared the growth results
to plants kept in traditional trays. It is an experiment that is
probably worth trying. However right now I am having the "mother of all
battles" with aphids, melay bugs and slugs (chemical warefare has broken
out) and cannot embark on any such experiment until that problem is
solved.
