Sure not! I use a 'normal' (for me) soil, well drained. There are two
types of location of N.northiana: the one is in thick moss and bright
conditions above the fairy-cave in Sarawak, the other is in a rather
dark hill-forest with thin compost on limestone-slopes behind the
cave. I don't think that the plant is adapted to limestone in any way,
only to well drained soil.
