Personally, I would not put ice cubes in my Nepenthes pots.
Right now I am experiencing extreme heat with my Nepenthes, with 80 degree
F/ 26.6 degree C night temperature lows! I am running an evaporative cooler
and misting at night with 65 F/ 18.3 C water. Combining the cool mist with
gentle, humid air movement lowers the temp 10 F degrees, not really enough
for my highlanders, but sufferable. The evaporative cooler does not really
cool much more than a few degrees because of high humidity, but it does
create an extremely humid breeze-and air movement cools.
Perhaps a gentle air movement and a cool misting in your terrarium would
help create a somewhat cool, balmy atmosphere. I've reached the conclusion
that the only way to sufficiently cool highlanders in a warm climate is with
an air conditioner/refrigeration system combined with a misting system.
