It is rather the other way round. The _Euphorbia_ does not seem to
have developed from a carnivorous precursor but many cps could indeed
have originated from plants that had glands similar to those found in
non-carnivorous plants like e.g. _Plumbago_. I do not know of any cp
closely related to _Euphorbia_.
