Steve, welcome to the list. In the NC coastal plain where Dionaea, and
many Drosera, Sarracenia and Pings grow, summer temps get up to the mid
90s on an almost daily basis and 100 is not unusual. This is far from a
dry heat and in fact it is usually quite humid. A summer's day here can
be approximated by soaking a burlap bag in a bucket of water overnight,
wrapping it around your head and then sticking your head in an oven
preheated to 250. Get the picture? (Kids, don't try this at home.) I
would imagine a 100 degree dry heat is much, much harder on these
plants.
