Brian and list,

I have grown N. macrovulgaris successfully in both lowland and
highland environments. My experience suggests that this species
is tolerant of a fairly wide variety of climatic conditions.

Although I've heard others mention it growing in ultramafic compost,
I have had no trouble at all growing it in a 1:1:1 mix of peat, fine
orchid bark, and horticultural grade charcoal.
