Alastair, I think you're right! When I disturbed them, they scrambled
down into the peat and some did spring a few milimeters. They were
entertaining little creatures. The fellow I talked to at a local
nursery thought maybe they were 'eating' the peat. If I find them
again, I think I'll let them stay. I sometimes enjoy hosting other
small creatures. Once, I found tiny snails living in my Pothos plants.
They appeared to be eating the peat, also. I'm not sure what happened
to them, I haven't seen them for a while. I know, jade plants with peat
moss, sounds strange. I didn't pot them, somebody else did it.
