Subject: Nepenthes! And other pitchers....

My nepenthes (madagascarensis) are growing like crazy- they apparently
love my lighting- the traps are getting a distinctive red mottling color
on the tops of the pitchers- the bulbous section below is green. I'm so
excited- I didn't know that there were "easy to grow" nepenthes!!!

Meanwhile, in another part of the terrarium, one of my sarrs caught a
fly! Now normally that isn't such a big deal, but this was on of the s.
purps- I used to think a purp with it's huge open to the sky flair would
be easy for any flying insect to escape from (flap your wings and go
straight up!), but evidently this isn't the case! I missed the actual
capture as the phone rang while the fly was becoming acquainted with the
Klimagro's lights- I thought I'd have time to take a quick call. Next
thing I know, he's down in the well of the pitcher splashing around
furiously. Incredible.

Cheers,
Paul
