Subject: Plantlet on VFT Flower Scape

Thanks to all for the incredible suggestions; sorry it took so long to
respond but I've been extremely ill of late and I only got to take a
look at my CP-Digests from last week this morning.

So far, the little plantlet thrives and curiously, although the flowers
have died, the scape itself isn't showing any signs of dying in the
least! I do have my signal that it's time for the plantlet to be
removed though. One single solitary red root is now jutting down (about
a quarter of an inch long) to the soil a foot below! The base of the
plantlet has the typical VFT "bulb" of basal leaves, and the plantlet
already has one trap as large as a quarter inch- pretty good since no
seed was produced on this plant. Maybe I should call this guy Dionea
Prolifera? :)

I'm going to try and borrow a digital camera tonight and shoot some pix
before and after the removal of the plantlet. To those who suggested
cutting up the scape, I think I'll do this as this one's already proved
a genetic predisposition towards making plantlets this way.

To Chris Hind: you're not set to be "ignored". In fact, I didn't know
there was a way to ignore anyone on the CP-List. I wouldn't do that
even if I knew how. To ignore knowledge is stupid, no matter the
source. (And so far as i know, you haven't steered me wrong yet...) :)

Cheers,
Paul
