Dear All

My understanding is that if there is enough interest shown; WA
University Press (WAUP) will consider republishing Volumes 1-3 in a
condensed one volume format.

This may allow them some freedom to rework the printing of the
colour screenings of volume 1 (some of which were 'smudged' and
improve the contrast of some of the images in Volume 2. Also when
volume one is thumbed say for example to a prospective customer it
is not at first obvious that the work contains any colour at all
and was found to be very off-putting if not misleading when trying
to clinch a sale of the work.

I reckon the easiest way to achieve the the condense format is to
remove the unnecessary repetition of the location maps. By placing
related species onto a single map or producing a three-to-four map
two-page spread the general layout of the books could be greatly
improve and might even leave room for a further addition of new
colour plates as well as new ecological and cultural information
that would make such a
reissue a mandatory purchase amongst ardent CP devotees.

Anyway, I'm sure that the University of WA Press (Nedlands WA
6009, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA) would love to hear from
interested parties; considering that they use to be the
distribution agents in WA for the various reprints of Rica
Erickson's third book "Plants of Prey (in Australia)" so as you can
see they have had a long and tangible association with 'Plantes
Carnivore'.
