NAME

UNITS - Set editor resolution

SYNOPSIS

UNIts [<unitvalue>] <EOC>

DESCRIPTION

Piglet uses the <unitvalue> to constrain the possible GRID settings. By default, <unitvalue> is set to 1000, which forces all user grids to be integer multiples of 1/1000 of the base unit. For example, with <unitvalue> set to 100, an attempt to set the GRID to 0.125 would result in an error message and the grid set to 0.13.

The <unitvalue> only constrains points entered by grid snapping. Points explicitly typed at the commandline are quantized by Piglet's global resolution RES which can be set at compile time in "db.h" and is typically 5 significant digits.

If UNITs is invoked without any arguments, the current unit setting is printed.

OPTIONS

<unitvalue>
The <unitvalue> is the number of subdivisions that Piglet will allow for a unit grid. It must be a positive integer less than 10^RES. A <unitvalue> of 1000 would be suitable for a drawing in inches, with a resolution of 1/1000 of an inch.
