Are you sure you're talking about sphagnum?! The stuff is a
complete weed for me and in the right conditions, will grow
almost an inch per week. Overall, I generally have to trim it
back about once a month or more. However, I completely agree
that you should not harvest large amounts of sphagnum from a
bog, no matter how fast it grows!
