First, I think it is a good idea to get all kinds of information
pooled in some computeable format.
But there are some natural limitations to the output we could
achieve. I do not doubt there will be dozens of photos showing
perfectly shaped and correctly IDed _Dionaea_, _Cephalotus_, or
even _Drosophyllum_. But who does have that
_Nepenthes_campanulata_, _Pinguicula_utricularioides_, or
_Utricularia_podadena_ slide...? There are many books available
already with the widespread, easy-to-grow, and taxonomically
uncritical species depicted as excellent photos. Of some species,
however, only the herbarium type specimen and the protologue
is known to exist. These of course are mostly the more interes-
ting ones by terms of taxonomy.
Thus, I think it is not only a problem to get the masses of data
handled in some way. TMHO data acquisition and selection
should be planned and supervised carefully.
