UK plant mapping (?)

Hi All!
I know the following stuff may cause a) me to be shunned from CP talk
forever :-(( and b) a few high emotions, but I'm going to say it anyway.

I have had an idea, that is to make a program 'runnable' under windows
3.1, '95 etc. which shows as many spots where carnivorous plants are
known to live as possible and details and maps of where they are and how
you can get to them. This would be for the UK, for now at least, as the
USA is so big and, for me, unknown. I know what this means, a
possibility of unscrupulous collectors going to the sites and digging up
all the plants illegally, but it would mean what I believe is the first
good reference of the whole UK's CP's, so that we, the CP enthusiasts
and conservationists can a) see the plants we love so much in their
natural habitat and b) keep tabs on them so sites are not built upon,
devastated, drained, etc.

If anyone has any ideas or contributions to make towards or against this
idea, please contact me, but please don't just criticize, either suggest
a remedy for any problems you see or constructively criticize, and tell
me exactly why you don't like or do like the idea.

This, of course, is only a rough idea and the probability is that it
will never get off the drawing board, but if I have enough support I
will start to work on it, and see how far I get.

Thanks for your time folks,

Toby Marsden
