Chiggers

We have "Pennsylvania-type" chiggers here. The only way you know
there's one under your skin is if you get a red welt that looks like a
mosquito bite. We put some liquid clear fingernail polish all over the
red welt & the little bugger dies, unfortunately, under your skin. I
wonder how many chiggers I have imbibed in my time? Nasty little
critters, but at least they are not as dangerous as the notorious deer
tick we have here in the East Coast. Too many of my friends have Lyme
Disease from being bitten by a deer tick & for that reason, you won't
find me in a CP bog without a "wetsuit." Judy Showers
