I used to grow all my plants indoors years ago, grad student apartment and all
that. I never bothered with stashing them in the frig. S. purp. is fairly
tolerant; I would cut the light back to 12-14 hours a day (from 18 in the
summer) reduce the water level in the tray to maybe 3/8 inch and wait until
spring to cut the old growth off. My S. purp. always did well.
