Yes, here in the UK I believe it's 50 years from the date of last
reprinting, but it varies between countries I should think. It's
a long time to wait for a book - assuming it's not reprinted, SLACK's
_Carnivorous Plants_ will be legally copyable in 2030 or so!
That explains why so much of the Public Domain electronic literature
available on CDs and the Net is so old - Sherlock Holmes is about
as modern as it gets out of copyright.
