Surface sow on standard houseplant compost, or 2:1 hc:sand. keep
moist, warm and sunny. If the seeds aren't fresh you may like to
water them once with boiling water to wake them up a bit (it's OK -
they can take it.) Germination can be very slow, but you usually
get a few sprouting within a month or two, and more over the next
       year or more.
Grow them in a warm sunny spot, but protect from scorching sun if
they're closing up without stimulation. Watch out for scale and red
spider mites - greenfly seem to be not so much of a problem.
Feed fortnightly with tomato food if you want, but it's not critical.
Overwintering is tricky - keep between 10-15'C and only just damp.
You may find it easier to grow them as annuals, as they will flower
and seed in the first year.

          Hope this helps,

                        Peter
