Subject: Peat tea results

To all,

About 2 months back on the list "peat tea" was discussed along with the
preparation of this mixture. Well I went ahead and tried it. I can
report the following results so far:

My Sarracenias that were lacking in colouration (the forms with red
areas and deep veination) have shown vivid increases, especially my S.
Purpureas.

No change whatsoever in Dioneae. Same with D. Intermedia and D.
Rotundifolia.

I have grown all my sarrs, temperate drosera, and Dioneae outside under
partial sun since early spring (March). They receive 4-6 hours of direct
sunlight with light open shade the rest of the day. The "tannic tea" is
applied about once every other week to the medium mixed in a 1:3
dilution with rain water.

Would any other grower care to comment on this treatment? Please list
the specific plants that the tea has helped colour up. It's still not
quite clear to me if any other genus other than sarracenia this mixture
affects.
