Sun damage will happen to _any_ plant that is acclimated to an environment
with less light. Your D. capensis grew many new leaves under conditions of
soft morning sun and air-conditioning. This growth may be considered
"soft" for lack of a better term. Having that growth turn brown and curl
up during exposure to direct sunshine and high temperatures is expected.
