There will be an article featuring _N. diatas_ (and others from N
Sumatra) in one of the next issues of CPN.

Presently, there is quite a lot of _Nepenthes_ tourism to this
island (not always good for the plants but still far less harmful
than the fires/logging!), and it seems that not all taxa have been
described yet. There is also an ongoing debate on the status of
several described taxa.

This will also be featured in CPN soon.

Prof. Dr. Willem Meijer, the famous _Rafflesia_ specialist, in 1956.

Species nova.

Correct. When I first saw the herbarium specimens, I thought it was a
pressing artefact (of another species). I only believed that the
pitchers are indeed "aristolochioid" after Prof. Meijer showed me
photos of living plants taken on the spot in 1956.

You are not the only one.
